Have you ever wanted to plot the baseline
residuals so that you could spot the noisy data without
combing through a huge confusing list of numbers? Well now you
can. Upgrade to SKI-Pro 3.0 which finally includes
residual plots, and more. I highly recommend this method
rather than following the procedures below. You get many more
types of plots with much less work.
With SKI-Pro 2.x versions, using AWK, a freeware GNU tool,
you can create comma delimited files which can be opened in
Microsoft Excel and plotted. This should not
be attempted unless you are familiar with Ski-Pro processing,
Microsoft Excel, and have some experience with script
languages and programs.
Please NOTE:
This is not a Leica product or procedure.
DO NOT call Leica's support number with questions about this
procedure.
I will answer any basic questions you have, but other than
that... IF YOU TRY THIS, YOU ARE ON YOUR
OWN.
The general steps are as follows:
1. Download and extract the AWK zip file. (A good place to
copy and extract the file is the C:\Program Files\Leica
Geosystems directory). An \AWK directory with subdirectories
will be created. See the ReadMe.txt file.
2. From the results page in Ski-Pro, right-click on the
baseline of interest in the tree view on the left side of the
screen and select "Compute residuals".
3. Open the baseline folder that was created and right-click
on "Residuals" and select "Save as.."
4. Enter "ResLogV2.txt" as the name for this file and save it
in the "SkiProV2_Resids_AWK/input" folder created when you
extracted the zip file.
5. From Windows explorer, double-click on the
"Run_SkiPro_Resdid_AWK.bat" file. This will create four files
of L1 and L2 code and phase residuals.
5a. Using a text editor, move the column header line from the
last line to the 5th line in the L1 and L2 phase residual
files.
6. Run Excel and open the L1 and L2 phase residual files.
7. For each file, select delimited and set start importing at
line 5.
8. Click the next button and select comma as the
delimiter.
9. Click the next button, leave all columns as general and
click the finish button.
10. Click in the second cell of column "D", and then while
holding the shift key, click in the last cell of the last
column (there is a limit of 255 rows per plot) to select the
range of residuals to plot.
11. Click on the Chart Wizard icon.
12. Select "Line" as the chart type and click the next
button.
13. Select Series in: as "Columns" and click the finish
button.
14. Your phase residuals will be plotted.
15. Repeat as necessary for your data set.
